English Entry Test [EET] for applicants

1) What is the English Entry Test [EET]?

a) It is an in-house English proficiency test offered only to AIT applicants. The test fee is non-refundable.

b) It tests the applicant’s academic essay writing skills with a duration of 60 minutes. There is no word limit, and the writing score is given on a scale of 1 to 9.

c) As with all English proficiency tests, plagiarism is taken seriously at AIT. There are serious consequences for those who plagiarize or copy and paste their answer from sources.

2) What are the testing platforms used in EET?

a) Onsite: This format uses a paper-based exam.

b) Online: This format uses the Zoom app and an online exam software link provided by the Language Center.

Note: A paper-based Academic Writing Placement Test (AWPT) will be required of students who will be admitted with an online EET score. These students should take the AWPT during their first semester of studies. If students are unavailable to take the test, they should contact the Language Center [lctesting@ait.asia] immediately.

3) What happens after I have taken the EET?

a) The test result will be e-mailed within 5-7 working days after the test date. The Language Center will report the test result to test takers and the AIT Admissions Office.

b) The applicants may request for academic writing tutorials after receiving their test result. This is a good opportunity to meet with an LC lecturer to go over your writing. Kindly send an email to lctesting@ait.asiaand pay the amount of THB300/session (duration: 30 minutes).

c) For long-term learning effects that can help further improve the applicant’s overall English and communication skills, the Language Center highly recommends the intensive 6-week Bridging Programoffered from June to July.
